What is the PTFA?
The Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) exists to raise funds which help assist the school to pay for extra items that are not provided for automatically by Staffordshire County Council's budget. We help turn the desires of both the school pupils and staff into a reality.
Our community events include our Christmas Fayre and Summer Barbeque, whilst our social events for the children include our popular Bingo Nights and Discos. As a parent or guardian of a child at the school, you are automatically a member of the PTFA and your support is very much valued by the committee and the school.
By supporting PTFA events, you are contributing towards the school.
The PTFA are aware that families are constantly juggling their family duties with employment and out of school demands on their time; which is why we work hard to provide a closer link between home and school. St Chad's PTFA acts as a catalyst to bring parents, staff, grandparents, families and friends together socially in support of the school.
What we do:
Throughout the year the PTFA organises various social, formal and informal events. Our events are fun and entertaining, family friendly and, of course, are all fundraisers!
Our events include: Summer BBQ, Christmas Fair including Grotto, Easter Eggstravaganza, School discos, Bingo Nights, Movie Nights, Country Fair, Curry & Quiz Night - adults only.
Are we missing an opportunity? Fancy getting involved? Please let us know.
How we do it:
Meetings: We meet every 4-6 weeks for a couple of hours, and everyone is welcome to come along to see what we do. Meetings are relaxed, we chat over a cup of tea or coffee and discuss upcoming events and ideas for fundraising. We monitor how much has been raised and agree how that money is to be spent. Meetings are informal, no-one is ever put on the spot and you don’t need to speak if you don’t wish, it’s a group of parents chatting over a cuppa. Everyone is made welcome at any stage during their child's time with school and it is never too late to get involved, new faces and ideas are always most welcome.
How you can help:
The PTFA is a dedicated team of parents from all backgrounds whose children are all at varying stages of their time at St Chads’. Our input is as much, or as little, as we can give.
We always need volunteers to help set up, serve and clear away after an event, volunteers to help with the BBQ, ideas & skills towards new projects, and families to come along and enjoy our events!
If you want to help, even on an ad-hoc basis or would like to know more about the PTFA, please leave your contact details with the school office and we will get back to you. It is entirely your choice if you attend meetings or not as it is not necessary to join the committee in order to offer your support. We're grateful for any time you can offer, even if this is half an hour to help on a stall, it all helps us support the school.
Our thanks go to everyone who has contributed to our events in the past - we know how precious your time is. We thank all those families who have come and supported our fundraising events - without your generous support we wouldn’t have been able to have been able to fund recent projects such as the IT equipment and reading book scheme.
