A Message from our Chair of Governors

We believe that it is important to support our school to create a caring, rich and stimulating environment in which every child can develop to his/her full potential.

We work together with the Head Teacher, Mrs Yeomans, and her staff, to develop key policies.  Our aim is to be a "critical friend" by providing advice and support.

We meet at least once per term.  Each governor sits on a committee, of which there are two which meet regularly - Resources and Facilities Committee and Raising Acheivements Committee (from Sept 18).  Other committees/working parties are set up when necessary.

Our statutory responsibilities include the requirement to manage the school budget through considering and approving the budget and any revisions.

One of our most important roles is raising standards within our school.  We do this by assisting the Head Teacher in strategic planning, approving policies and critically reviewing performance.  We also make sure the National Curriculum is being taught to a high standard by regular classroom visits for class observations with each Curriculum Committee governor having their own curriculum responsibility.

The Governors are volunteers who regularly give time to the school and are involved in many aspects of its daily life.  It is very rewarding - especially when we can see the progress of our pupils throughout their time with us.

Minutes of the Governing Board Meetings are available for reviewing upon request. Please contact the school office should you wish to do so.  If you wish to contact me please do so on:
